Jurij Makowlev

Jurij Makowlev urodził się we wschodniej Ukrainie w 1959 r. Ukończył Akademię Sztuk Pięknych w Charkowie i przeniósł się do Doniecka, gdzie żyje i tworzy. W swojej twórczości inspiruje się m.in. kulturą antyku, włoskim surrealizmem, ekspresjonizmem niegeometrycznym. Próbuje opisać drobne fragmenty obrazu współczesnego świata. Dlatego też podczas pracy w każdej z interesujących go technik stara się wykorzystywać maksymalnie możliwości, jakie daje mu dany materiał i szuka w nim aspektów pozwalających na przekazanie jego wewnętrznych przemyśleń. Szuka cząstek, wrażeń wizualnych, detali, które zestawione razem dadzą osobisty obraz wybranego fragmentu otaczającego go świata. Malarstwo, rzeźba są odbiciem wewnętrznych gruntownych przemyśleń, filozofii… Tworzy w wielu dziedzinach sztuki i wykorzystuje wiele materiałów, biorąc pod uwagę ich indywidualne właściwości. Zajmuje się rzeźbą, malarstwem, ceramiką, rysunkiem, grafiką. To wyjątkowo wszechstronny artysta, którego prace znajdują się w prywatnych kolekcjach na całym świecie. Jego rzeźba – „Maidan” to mocne odniesienie do trudnej sytuacji ojczyzny i jednocześnie wyraz nadziei na lepszą przyszłość.

Jurij Makowlev was born in eastern Ukraine in 1959. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kharkov and moved to Donetsk where he lives and creates. His work is often inspirated by the culture of antiquity, Italian surrealism, non-geometric expressionism. He tries to describe small fragments of the image of the contemporary world. Therefore, when working in any of the techniques being interested in, he tries to use the maximum possibilities given to him by the material and looks for aspects that allow him to convey his inner thoughts. He searches for particles, visual impresssions and details, which put together will give a personal image of a selected fragment of the surrounding world. Painting, scultpure are a reflection of internal deep thoughts, philosophy… He creates in many fields of art and uses many materials, taking into account their individual properties. He deals with sculpture, painting, ceramics, drawing, graphics. He is an extremely versatile artist whose works can be found in private collections around the world. His sculpture – „Maidan” is a strong reference to the difficult situation of the fatherland and at the same time an expression of hope for a better future.
